Ceramic Wall Hanging 9" W x 7.5" H x 1.5" D
Title: Skeletal Void
This is a coild built porcelain wall hanging which has interesting surfaces because it has been fired in a kiln fueled with wood. I like to keep the marks of making, hence you can notice the long wavy lines where a coil meets the next one. The finger marks are also kept as a mark of process, repetition and texture. The fire provides variations on the surface, which enhances the making marks. Once the work is displayed, an appropriate light source creates strong shadows adding another layer of interest in the work.
